Professor Ladislav Dušek, Ph.D., is a distinguished researcher known for his expertise in applying statistical methods to biology, medicine, predictive oncology and epidemiology. He earned his Ph.D. in Ecology from Masaryk University in 1994. He is a pioneer of data-informed decision-making and a very strong advocate for evidence use in the Czech Republic.
Dušek has served as Director of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic since 2014 and has held various roles at Masaryk University, including researcher, professor and director of the Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses. His research spans predictive oncology, epidemiology, and data analyses, with a focus on healthcare quality assessment and IT structures for health interventions.
Recognized with numerous awards, including the Edward Babak Memorial Medal and the Czech Idea Award, Dušek has over 300 publications, extensive teaching experience, and a commitment to advancing medical research.
