Edoardo Aromataris

Assoc Prof Edoardo Aromataris is a proponent for the use of available research evidence to inform clinical practice and policy decisions in health care, and the research that underpins this best practice. He has a background in cellular electrophysiology. Currently, he is the Director of Synthesis Science at JBI at The University of Adelaide; he is the founding Editor-in-Chief of JBI Evidence Synthesis and the co-Deputy Director of the JBI Adelaide GRADE Centre. 

In the role of Director of Synthesis Science for JBI, as a part of the organisation’s broader program of evidence-based healthcare research, Edoardo has overseen the expansion of the organisation’s international program of systematic review methodological development, which he initiated in 2011. He is the founding chair and current vice-Chair of the international JBI Scientific Committee and active contributor to the development of multiple diverse methodologies of synthesis. He has previously led and convened active JBI methodology groups focussed on methods for reviews of effects, umbrella reviews and reviews of aetiology and risk factors. He is editor of the JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis – a recognised, practical, resource for evidence synthesists around the globe.
