Robert Hejzák serves as the chairman of the National Association of Patient Organizations (NAPO) and holds a longstanding position as a board member, currently serving as vice-chairman, of the Czech AIDS Help. This patient organization advocates for people living with HIV. He represents NAPO within the European Patients' Forum (EPF) and acts as the Czech representative in the European Commission's working group "EU HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and tuberculosis Civil Society Forum" Additionally, he fulfills the role of a civil society representative on the ECDC's European Network for STI Surveillance Coordination Committee.
Moreover, Robert is a member of the international patient organization European AIDS Treatment Group and serves on the Executive Committee of AIDS Action Europe, a coalition comprising 370 patient and non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting those living with HIV.
Robert's efforts are dedicated to ensuring patient involvement in health policy formation and decision-making processes regarding healthcare system design. He emphasizes the importance of applying evidence-based medicine principles in establishing healthcare protocols and policies.
