Miloslav Klugar

Dr. Miloslav Klugar is the director and co-founder of three international centers operating in the Czech Republic, namely the Czech Cochrane Center, the Czech JBI Center of Excellence, and the Czech GRADE Network. These centres and networks are part of the Methodological Center of the National Institute for Quality and Excellence in Healthcare (NIKEZ) at the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic, established by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. He is also a senior researcher at the Faculty of Education of Palacký University and an adjunct associate professor of public health at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Adelaide in Australia.  

Dr. Klugar focuses on the development, implementation, promotion, and teaching of Evidence-Based Practice, particularly in the context of evidence synthesis and trustworthy guideline development. He is a member of several international methodological groups including JBI, the GRADE Working Group, Cochrane, and GIN, covering topics such as diagnostic test accuracy, effectiveness reviews, public health, umbrella reviews, rapid reviews, guideline updates, GRADE Adolopment, predatory publishing, etc. As a member of the JBI GRADE centre, Dr. Klugar focuses on the implementation and improvement of GRADE methods within JBI systematic reviews. He is the authorized representative of NIKEZ at GIN and serves as a treasurer on the steering committee of the Evidence-Based Research Network. Dr. Klugar is the chair of the scientific and local organizing committee for the Global Evidence Summit 2024 in Prague. He has successfully led more than twenty national and international projects and authored over 150 publications indexed in the Web of Science.
